Keith Hagen

Keith Hagen came from the web optimization world, and has been gaining insights into what is and isn’t working with websites since 2002. Following his postgraduate studies, Hagen moved from his native Nova Scotia, Canada, to Colorado to work as an internet programmer. He then moved to the business side of the internet. In the corporate world, he has driven the improvements of more than 30 websites (eCommerce and B2B).

When not working, Hagen can be found hauling his kids to music or skating lessons, or spending quality time with his family in Denver and Copper Mountain, Colorado.

The eCommerce Website Testing Checklist

Timing your tests is just one of the critical factors involved in getting accurate results. I created a checklist that covers the timing and participant factors and much more.

Checklist to Valid testing. Here is a simple checklist you can follow to ensure you are testing properly with any test tool. Test Configuration: Is the test configured as narrowly as possible? Has the test been fully Q A'd, including cross-browser testing? Will Returning Visitors to the site be entered into the test? Is the test running at 100 percent of traffic? Running the test: Was the test given at least seven full days before concluding? Are results being looked at within full-week cycles? Was the test given enough time for participants to purchase? Have any variations been turned off?
